Recycling in partnership with Right Guard®

Recycle in partnership with Right Guard®

TerraCycle® and Right Guard® have partnered to create AEROCYCLE, a free recycling programme for used anti-perspirant and deodorant aerosols, and a fundraising opportunity for drop-off point administrators. In addition we will be converting the aluminium from the used aerosol deos into outdoor community gyms.

This map is constantly being updated

View all participating public drop-off locations on the interactive map above.

A public drop-off location is a communal collection point where the public can take their TerraCycle waste for recycling. Each public drop-off location is listed on the interactive map above. When you drop off your waste at a public drop-off location, the TerraCycle points earned for the waste are transferred to the account of the public drop-off location administrator in question, who can then donate the points to the charity of their choice.

Before you go to a public drop-off location with your waste, we advise you check the details (full address, opening hours and location of collection box at the site) and when a telephone number is listed it’s worth calling just to ensure the collection point is still active.

This map is updated when new public drop-off locations are added or removed, so we recommend you consult it in advance of each time you plan to drop off your waste.

How it works

Participation in the AEROCYCLE recycling programme is completely free and very easy. Everyone can participate in the collection campaign by going to their nearest collection point.

The used anti-perspirant and deodorant aerosols will be recycled into outdoor community gyms in collaboration with The Great Outdoor Gym Company.

What you can recycle in this programme

Best practices for recycling

Please ensure aerosol deos are empty for storage and transportation.

What happens to the waste

Once collected the aerosols are taken to a licensed depot where any residual gases and liquids are removed. The aerosols are then broken down into smaller pieces and the plastic and metal components seperated. The plastic components are extracted for recycling and the metal components are smelted into ingots. These ingots are then rolled into aluminium sheets to create new products. In this complete recycling process, the aluminium from the used aerosol deos will be turned into outdoor community gyms.

TerraCycle Points

TerraCycle points can be redeemed by the public drop-off administrator for a variety of charitable gifts, product bundles or for a payment of £0.01 per point to the non-profit organization or school of their choice. The charity beneficiary associated with each location is listed on the map above. To learn more about our points programme, click here.
