Recycling in partnership with McVitie's®, Carr's®, Go Ahead® and Jacob's®
TerraCycle®, McVitie's®, Carr's®, Go Ahead® and Jacob's® have partnered to create a free recycling programme for any brand of Non-Savoury Biscuit and Cracker Wrappers, and a fundraising opportunity for participants.
From October the 1st, 2018, every parcel of cracker and biscuit wrappers will have to weigh 1kg minimum (about 417 wrappers) to receive TerraCycle points.
Participating is completely free and very easy.
When you want to post a shipment, download a free UPS label from your account, attach it to your shipment and then simply order a free pick-up via UPS by calling 03457 877 877 or book a collection online here. UPS will then collect from your location. You can also drop-off your parcel at your closest UPS drop-off point, which you can find here.
Make sure all excess product has been removed (i.e food residue) and place all cracker and biscuit wrappers in the box. Tape the box together securely ensuring there are no loose edges or corners. Print your label and attach it securely to the shipment.
Once collected, the cracker and biscuit wrappers are cleaned and melted into hard plastic that can be remolded to make new recycled products. Click here to learn more about the recycling process.
TerraCycle points can be redeemed for a variety of charitable gifts or a payment of £0.01 to the non-profit organisation of your choice. For more information about our points programme, click here.
Pladis is a family of bakers and chocolatiers who make some of the UK's best-loved biscuits (McVitie’s and go ahead!), crackers (Jacob’s and Carr’s) and chocolates (Godiva).
They've been around for over 200 years. In that time a lot has changed, but one thing that hasn’t is their commitment to sustainability and safeguarding the future of the planet.
That’s why they have partnered with us - a first for the industry – encouraging consumers to help end the waste of resources by sending in their used wrappers to be recycled.
