Coffee Packaging Brigade®

The simple answer is that, unlike the Kenco® Eco Refill Brigade®, we don’t want you to sign up and send back your packaging from home. For this Brigade® we are looking for 100 locations to act as collection hubs in central locations across the UK for local communities to take their coffee packaging waste to. With the help of each collection hub, we can save a far greater amount of coffee packaging waste from landfill.

Charity Donations - With the local community collecting on your behalf considerable amounts of waste will be collected and saved from landfill. The Brigade still works the same way – 2 TerraCycle points will be awarded for each coffee packaging unit sent in based on average weight. Each point can then be redeemed for a 1 pence contribution.

So who benefits? - Whoever sets up and looks after the Brigade® at a local level gets to choose. We recommend that a local school or charity is chosen as the beneficiary so that local collectors know they are making a difference directly within the community.

Collection Boxes - Will also be provided for the 100 chosen locations which can then be placed in a central location for the local community to drop off their waste coffee packaging.

First Shipment Bonus Points! -To thank you for joining the programme, Kenco will give you a First Shipment bonus of 200 points for your first Coffee Packaging Brigade Shipment ! Simply send in your first shipment to qualify, its that easy!

Local Publictity - TerraCycle will also support each of the 100 chosen Brigade® locations by generating some local media coverage letting the local community know where to drop off their waste coffee packaging.

Visibility - All locations in the Coffee Packaging Brigade agree to be listed with a contact name and details plus the location of the collection box drop off point on the TerraCycle website. This allows more people to find and drop off their waste for your collections and in turn helps raise higher charity donations.

Participation in this programme is free, so be sure to collect your coffee packaging waste, drop it off at your nearest Coffee Packaging Brigade® collection location and tell all your friends and family to do the same! • We are looking for people who already collect with TerraCycle on existing Brigade programmes that can demonstrate experience of setting up and running successful collections.
  • Success in placing collection boxes in local amenities.
  • A network of local collectors that already collect on your behalf and spread the word to others
  • High Collection Levels
• Ability to place a collection box in a central drop off point(s) such as at a school, store, church or local amenity such as a library or town hall.
• The local school /charity that will benefit. Community members are more likely to participate if the contributions earned benefit a local school /charity rather than a national / international charity.
